1. Back length: Measure from the withers to the base of the tail. It is important that the dog stands in a normal, upright position with a straight back. Note that some garments are not designed to reach all the way down to the base of the tail.
2. Neck circumference: Measure where the neck is widest, just below the base of the head.
3. Chest circumference: Measure around the dog's chest at its widest point, usually just behind the front legs.
